Martine & Sebastian

We are an international couple that has its roots in the Netherlands and in Greece. While working all over the world we met on a business trip and decided to start exploring the world together. We get most of our creative energy from being outdoors, close to the sea and under the sun.

Vima Suites

Vima Suites is a private house on the highest point of the village. It has a spacious patio with shade from the ever-blooming pink bougainvillea. Two traditional cave rooms have been converted into comfortable bedrooms with en-suite bathroom and panoramic view over the village and the Aegean Sea. Two other caves are the kitchen and a lush indoor cave pool to provide luxury and comfort combining traditional architecture and modern elements.

The local techniques were guiding us during the design of Vima Villa, while we added modern elements to create a unique atmosphere. The soft shapes of the built furniture blend into the scenery while materials like wood and marble contrast the white. The spacious patio invites you to unwind in the shade of the vine while the hot tub provides a relaxing refresher with a panoramic view over the Aegean Sea.

Vima Home has been a family home for centuries. We carefully renovated the property by combining modern elements with the traditional space design to create a unique experience. The organic shapes of the cave-style rooms create a cozy atmosphere in the interior, while the patio of the villa invites you to relax under the colorful Bougainvillea or to daydream overlooking the Aegean Sea.

Story

We strive to inspire you by giving a different point of view. Let us share how we imagine your stay by giving the traditional, local and conscious Santorini experience.

Traditional

The traditional village of Emporio is located on the Southern part of Santorini and is yet untouched by mass tourism. Its picturesque white-washed houses have been built around the medieval castle and the church of Holy Mary on the top of the hill, creating a uniquely cozy and laid back atmosphere surrounded by locals. While the priest is calling for prayer on Sunday, you can hear the goats descending from the mountain with their bells ringing in the distance.

Local

Vima is deeply rooted on the island and our aim is to share the places, people and experiences that we love, with you. We grow our own organic fruits and vegetables on our land - for you to taste, but also to supply the restaurant of Sebastians dad. A little tavern next to the sea, so pure and authentic in its taste and philosophy. Where you might meet locals such as the master potter Andreas, who will teach you a lot about life and makes you feel the art of pottery in a private pottery class.

We are on a mission. Not only do we want to change the way we live, but also the way you make holidays. Since 2024 all of the luxury amenities in our houses are solar powered to reduce our yearly carbon footprint by 70%. Additionally, a water filtration system supplies clean drinking water, reducing plastic waste by 100%. Your contribution? Well, just use the complimentary linen bag to make your groceries single-plastic free!
